Change Shirt Color Tutorial

Change Shirt Color Tutorial

First start of by opening the image you are going to use and select the magnetic lasso tool.

Now outline the shirt and close the magnetic lasso tool selection to select the shirt.

You can then enter the quick mask mode to see the area selected and make correction to you selection such as adding to the selection with the brush tool and remove from the selection with the eraser tool.

Then make a new layer on top of the background layer.

Now select the paint bucket tool.

In the foreground color pick the color you want to use and then while the layer 1 is selected fill in the shirt selection with the paint bucket tool.

Then you can change the blending mode to which one looks best but in this case I will use soft light.

Also you are to move the opacity levels to adjust the amount of color being shown.

  1. Zach Mowrer- A very good tutorial, but for someone that is just starting out Photoshop, you should show the icons you click on in case people don't know the names of the tools yet.

  2. Jordan Pittman - Very good tutorial, easy to fallow and nothing was difficult to understand. Everything was visible enough to know what to do and what to click on.

  3. Fabian Garcia - Overall good tutorial and easy to follow, but it would be helpful for you to show where the tools are that you are using for people who are not familiar with photoshop.

  4. its was a very good tutorial that people of all abilities can follow easily. you should show the icon of the tools though just incase there are beginners that dont know what they look like.

  5. Carolina Norton - This tutorial was great! One thing I noticed was that it didn't tell you to copy the shirt selection onto another layer. By copying the selection onto another layer, you were able to adjust the blending mode only to the shirt and not the whole picture. The reason I knew to copy the shirt selection is because I've already done a similar tutorial.
